I just want to point out for something very important about the relationship between poverty and psychiatric illnesses.
There is no causal relationship between both. Indeed suicide rates are higher in rich people, especially highly-educated (the example will be Japan). Schizophrenia occurs equally in poor and rich people although once you are diagnosed with schizophrenia you will end up poor because the society will reject you.
The same thing probably applies for depression and anxiety.
In other words what I want to stress out that psychiatric diseases are universal affecting all patient
groups.
In my opinion this only just indicates that our people is very ignorant in regarding to psychiatric diseases. And they would like to detach themselves from psychiatric diseases remarking them as poverty's illnesses while they are money's diseases more than poverty's diseases.
